Songs of the Fishermen

Before GPS and weather apps, fishermen navigated by songs that held the wisdom of the sea.

At 4 AM, when the horizon was still indistinguishable from the sea, I would hear them beginning. The fishermen's voices would rise from the beach like incense, carrying prayers older than any written scripture.

These songs weren't performed—they were lived, breathed, woven into the daily ritual of casting off from shore.
